The first track from Stree 2, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia, was released on July 24 and has sparked divided opinions on social media. Some movie buffs have praised Tamannaah’s screen presence and dance moves, while others have compared it unfavourably to Nora Fatehi’s Kamariya from Stree (2018). The song begins with Tamannaah preparing for her stage performance as Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee watch her intently. As she dances to slow qawwali music, the song picks up the pace. Eventually, Rajkummar, Pankaj, Aparshakti, and Abhishek join her, captivated by her performance. Tamannaah and Maddock Films shared the song in a joint Instagram post, captioning it, “#AajKiRaat hogi tabaahi ki raat! (ghost, blast, and heart-shaped-eye emojis).”
Fatima Sana Shaikh commented, “Hottie.” However, some fans of Nora Fatehi expressed disappointment with Aaj Ki Raat. One user commented, “Nothing compared to Kamariya from Stree.” Another wrote, “Sabse bekar gana.” Another user labeled it a “totally disaster song” with bad music and singing. Criticizing the choreography, one user remarked, “What’s wrong with the choreography these days from bad to terrible.” Despite the negative reviews, many users praised Tamannaah’s dance sequence.
